Nikki Nichole Chandler was born on October 27, 1989 in Greeneville, TN. At a young age she developed a love for books and learning. As a baby and toddler she would love to have books read to her. At the age of 2 she was attending pre-school and loved going. She looked forward to each day she got to attend.
As Nikki advanced in school and age her love for books and learning continued. By the time she had reached her pre-teen years you would find her either talking on the phone (and believe me the girl loved to talk) or reading a book. She excelled in her school work and often talked about attending Duke University after she graduated from high school. She was a participant in the Academically Gifted program at Walnut Elementary and Madison Middle School.

Nikki was a kind, good hearted person. Nikki always had a smile on her face and a hug for anyone willing to be hugged. She loved reading books, collecting porcelain dolls, spending time with her family and friends, and shoes. She also liked to make people feel special, if you were feeling down she would do what she could to lift your spirits. She was often giving gifts of the heart, just to let you know that she cared. She often gave others things that were of sentimental value to her. (I recall one of her teachers saying she gave her some of her TY beanie babies as a gift.) She would stand up for those that she felt were treated unfairly and could not stand anyone to bully or pick on someone else. At the age of 11 she was probably one of the most mature and responsible children you could ever find.

Nikki's life was suddenly and unexpectedly taken at the age of 11 when the vehicle she was a passenger in was involved in a motor vehicle accident involving a county sheriff's deputy vehicle responding to a call.
Never will we know if her dream to attend Duke University would have become a reality and we can only wonder what kind of changes she would have made in this world if she had not been take from us.

More to come......................
